Careers and Futures

A Note For Employers and Training Providers

Baker Clause Policy Statement on Provider Access

This statement sets out our arrangements for managing access of Employers, Education and Training providers to our students at Mount Tamar School, for the purpose of giving all of our stakeholders up-to-date information about the provider’s Education or Training offer. This complies with the school’s legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.

Mount Tamar  is working to achieve the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks  using these to empower the statutory guidelines into our planning and delivery of a comprehensive Careers Programme to students across Key Stages 2-4.  As part of our commitment to providing up-to-date Careers and Guidance information to our students and parents, we include Labour Market Information and the full range of Employment, Learning and Training pathways on offer to our students at Post-16.  We are therefore happy to receive requests from Training, Apprenticeship and Vocational Educational Providers, as well as from Employers, to engage our students in the possibilities that may await them when they leave us, to embark upon the next stage of their journey at Post-16.

We are continually looking to work with a variety of providers who are ready to embrace students with SEND and would welcome contact from both local, regional and national Employers; providers of Training and Further Education. Any provider wishing to request access to Mount Tamar Mandy Turner - Careers Lead m_turner@mounttamar.org.uk.

As a School we will discuss all aspects of careers with each and every one of our students and help them all with their transition into the next stage of their education and entry into the world of work. Nevertheless, it is important for you all to have further information that can be reviewed in your own time.

As a parent with teenage children aged between 14 and 19 years old, you want to help them make the right decisions about what to do after their exams and vocational courses with us are completed. Here is a video which outlines the options out young people have at post 16.
