Inspection Reports

We have now been sent a copy of the monitoring inspection following a visit made by Ofsted in September, which can be found below

The monitoring inspection was the first since the school was put into special measures in January and I am sorry to report that the inspectors say our school remains inadequate and still requires special measures.

They also judge that leaders have made insufficient progress to improve the school.

We – the staff – are understandably disappointed with this result but will use the issues flagged in the letter to see where we can focus our attentions further.

While there is clearly more to do, there were areas highlighted as improved which are critically important to your child’s time at the school

·         All staff receive appropriate safeguarding training with frequent updates.

·         All staff have been trained to use physical intervention appropriately to keep pupils safe.

·         De-escalation strategies are used successfully and, as a result, there has been a marked decline in the use of physical intervention.

The inspectors found our safeguarding team is now strong and know children well, pupils were able to talk to trust adults and that the school and IEB have moved things forward.

I am currently addressing issues raised about security and maintenance as a matter of urgency and will be discussing further with the leadership team a more consistent approach to safeguarding concerns and a renewed commitment to ensuring all our safeguarding arrangements protect the physical and emotional safety of all pupils.
