Farm School Qualifications

Mount Tamar Granary Farm BTEC

On the outskirts of Liskeard, Mount Tamar have an acre of land and a classroom facility set within over 600 acres of land. The classroom is a grade 2 listed building in the centre of a working farm yard. Students play a large role in the running of the farm. Tasks consisting of caring for the animals through to budgeting and gaining an understanding of processing food produce. Business enterprise skills and community links will be developed through the development of a school farm shop. The farm project involves experience in agricultural animal husbandry, small animal care, crop production, environmental education and horticulture. For the pupils that experience the farm and apply themselves to the learning they will be able to gain the following recognised accreditation.
