Student Organised Macmillan Coffee Morning

"My name is Kyle, I am 14, I am a student at Mount Tamar School.  My uncle has dementia and it makes me feel anxious, although I understand what Dementia is, I don't know how to help.  I want to help others in my situation everywhere and I feel school is a good place to start.  Thank you."  Kyle Bennett

Kyle Bennett is a fourteen year old boy, who attends Mount Tamar School.  He lives with his Grandmother, who herself is in ill health.  Recently, Kyle's uncle has been diagnosed with Dementia and this has been worrying Kyle; he wanted to do something to raise awareness and also raise some money for the charity.

Kyle decided to share the event with Macmillan's "Biggest coffee Morning In the World" and "Jeans for Genes".

Kyle helped set up the area in school, dishing out cake and hot drinks to lots of Parents, Carers and other people who just wanted to come to the Coffee Morning.  Not only did he raise a massive £167.21, he brought people together to talk and support one another.
