Activities in the - Secondary Department
The 'Secondary Department' of Mount Tamar School actively promotes the use of visits to enhance and improve the education of the pupils. Mount Tamar School has a holistic approach to education so that pupils can learn, not only in the classroom, but also in the larger world outside.
Educational visits take on a variety of formats, whether they be during a single lesson, a whole morning, a day, or, in some cases, residential. Each visit is worked out to give pupils the greatest breadth to the curriculum whilst at the same time introducing them to different activities, places and events.
Whole School Activites
Citizenship Days
- As part of the Citizenship Curriculum each term a 'Citizenship Day' is organised where individual tutor groups spend one day researching and putting together a ten minute presentation which they then present to the whole school at the end of the day.
Summer Term Activity Days
- The Secondary Department puts on each year towards the end of the summer term three 'Activity Days' where pupils can choose what they want to do each day. Activities range form cooking to computer games in school and from Paint Balling to walks in the local area out of school.
