ICT -  Key Stage 4 - Scheme of Work

Introduction

At the beginning of Key Stage 4 a revision unit will be gone through which covers all the skills and tools that pupils have learned and used in previous years. The thinking behind the revision unit is two fold; firstly to remind pupils of the skills they have and secondly to introduce them to any new hardware and/or software that has been installed.

It is hoped that, by the time they begin key stage 4, pupils will already have their AQA ELC in ICT certificate and, either have, gained their Functional Skills qualification or be well on their way to achieving it.

Plymouth is piloting the new Diploma courses and Mount Tamar School is running the new ICT Dipoloma course. Pupils will be able to accredit the different strands towards the Diploma and also gain the Diploma at the end of the course. The Diploma looks more at how ICT is used in the work environment and there is a strong emphasise on using ICT to solve problems, meeting deadlines and working alongside actual ICT situations.

The complete unit of work is on MTSOC, Mount Tamar School's learning Platform. A login and password is required to access MTSOC.
