Level 1 (Foundation) IT Diploma - Introduction
The Level 1 (Foundation) IT Diploma is one of the new Diploma courses. [Mount Tamar School] have been fortunate to be asked by Plymouth LEA to run the Level 1 (Foundation) Diploma and teaching will start in September 2009.
The teaching of the Level 1 (Foundation) Diploma will take place on Friday mornings.
All students on the Level 1 (Foundation) Diploma will receive, for the duration of the course:
- a laptop
- Asus EeePC 100HE
- The laptop will be pre-configured with the EasyPeasy Linux operating system
- The setup required will be carried out as part of the first unit of work
- Asus EeePC 100HE
- a mobile device
- HP Ipaq 914 Business Communicator with integral camera
- The device will come pre-configured with Windows Mobile 6.1
- Any setup required will be carried out as part of the first unit of work
- HP Ipaq 914 Business Communicator with integral camera
- a case
- the case will allow pupils, who have agreed to the terms and conditions of taking the equipment home, to use the equipment away from school
- stationary equipment
- pen and pencil
- notebook
The funding for the above has been granted by Plymouth LEA. If students wish to use the equipment outside of school then a home / school agreement will need to be completed and signed.
