Introduction

Mount Tamar School has taken the line of purchasing and building workstations from component parts recently. Each computer is built and tested before being added to the network.

Across the school there is a range of hardware having been purchased over a period of 7 years. Older hardware is retained and added to the 'thin boot' network which relies on a fast server to serve the software to th station. This has given computers which would normally be obsolete a new lease of life in the classroom.
