Examinations - Introduction

Pupils at Mount Tamar School are encouraged to take public examinations.

At the end of Key Stage 2 all pupils take the national SAT's tests before they move onto the secondary department. At Key Stage 3 pupils are encouraged to experience the testing and examination process each year through either sitting the national end of year tests or, in Year 9, the National SAT's.

At Key Stage 4 pupils work towards Entry Level, Functional Skills, GCSE and Diploma Examinations. Each one of these courses take different forms of assessment with tests and examinations being taken either at the end of the courses or on completion of a unit or units.
