Mount Tamar school - School Based Services

Espresso
- Mount Tamar School subscribes to, and has an Espresso server on site
- All pupils may use the Espresso content to enhance the learning experience
- Staff, particularly at Key Stages 1 & 2, are encouraged to use the content in their lessons

MTSOC
- MTSOC is Mount Tamar School's online classroom and learning platform
- Staff are encouraged to add courses to the platform
- Pupils are encouraged to use the facilities both in school and outside of school

MTSocNet
- MTSocNet is Mount Tamar School's Social Networking Platform
- Pupils and staff can use the facilities to:
- message
- chat
- collaborate on work
- share files

MTS Trafficlights
- MTS Trafficlights are Mount Tamar School's behaviourial management system
- Staff record:
- The 'trafficlights' scores for each lesson
- Incidents
- Pupils are able to see:
- Their own 'trafficlights' for each lesson
- Their daily trafficlight score
- Further facilities are being added on a weekly basis

Staff Emails
- eGroupware
- The eGroupware software allows staff access to their emails, electronic diary, project planner, etc
- There have been problems recently with eGroupware becoming slow and some emails being delivered to the wrong email box.
- MTS GoogleMail
- After discussions with the other schools that Steve looks after we investigated GoogleMail
- Mount Tamar School will be moving over to GoogleMail from 1st July 2009
- Please note:
- email addresses will not change
- the login link is from the MTS front page
- emails will be available even if our web pages are unavailable!!
- Staff need to get used to using MTS GoogleMail over the coming weeks

MTS Library Admin
- The Mount Tamar School Librarian is currently using the popular OpenBiblio software to bring the library up to date and so that pupils will be able to borrow and use the facilities of the library in a more useful way.

MTS Admin
- The MTS Admin tools allows the Mount Tamar School Network Managers access to the network administration facilities.

MTS PupilWiki
- As part of the Key Stage 3 ICT course pupils are introduced to producing web pages. The MTS PupilWiki allows pupils to create their own web page content and publish it within the confines of the school.
- Please note that these pages are not available outside of Mount Tamar School.

White List
- The 'White List' services control pupil access to the Internet. The 'White List' is a list of acceptable websites which pupils are able to use for their learning and research.

MTS Webcams
- Mount Tamar School has a number of webcams which are connected to the ICT network. These webcams are viewable across the network in school.

Hosted Web Sites
Mount Tamar School is looking to expand its hosting of web sites as and when the new cable Internet connection is installed.
