Activity Days 2009

Tuesday 14th July

• All Day Events:
  • Quay West (Splashdown) (8) £9.50 Splashdown
    • A wet fun time in the sun (hopefully)!
  • Horse Riding (6) £20
    • You will trek across Dartmoor on horse back after getting ready. You will be able to sit back, enjoy the scenery and the smell of sweaty horses. In the afternoon you will be able to go swimming.
  • Eden Project (10) £3.50 Eden Project
    • This is a great opportunity for you to learn about this modern day 'Garden of Eden', which exists to take conservation well into the future! From rainforest to Mediterranean landscape this is interesting, educational and truly inspiring day out.
  • Surfing (6) £15 Surf's Up
    • Sun, sand and surf . . . what better way to spend a day! You will enjoy a lesson with 'Surf's Up' Surf School at Polzoath and have lunch on the beach watching the world go by.
• Morning Events:
  • Morning at the Devonshire Health and Racket Club (4) £5 Devonshire Health & Racket Club
    • You will have the opportunity to visit the club and take part in swimming and tennis
  • Console Games (6) No charge
    • You will be able to use the school console games for the morning.
• Afternoon Events:
  • Computer Games (6) No charge
    • You will be able to use the school computers for research or games for the afternoon.

Wednesday 15th July

• All Day Events:
  • Cycling (6) £2 Plym Valley Cycle Track
    • You will go for a cycle ride from Coy Pool along the Plym Valley Cycle Path, ending up at the SkyLark Pub for a packed lunch. After lunch you will return to Coy Pool.
  • Paignton Zoo (10) £2.50 Paignton Zoo
    • You will spend the day at Paignton Zoo with the animals exploring and discovering new and interesting information about conservation.
  • Surfing (6) £15 Surf's Up
    • Sun, sand and surf . . . what better way to spend a day! You will enjoy a lesson with 'Surf's Up' Surf School at Polzoath and have lunch on the beach watching the world go by.
  • London Visit (4) £20 Visit London
    • An exciting opportunity to visit London. You will travel to London in the early hours of the morning. You will spend the day visiting; Wembley Stadium and having a guided tour; then travel by underground for a flight on th eLondon Eye. You will return home late in the evening - tired but hopefully happy!

Thursday 16th July

• All Day Events
  • Fishing (6) £20 Sea Fishing Plymouth
    • A life on the ocean wave? Well, not quite! You will spend the day on the Scorpion with skipper Dave catching your supper.
  • Paintballing (10) £20 Delta Force
    • Delta Force is the recognised leader in paintball events. You will be provided with overalls and split into two teams before going out on a number of missions. you will be supplied initially with 300 paintballs but extra paintballs may be purchased at the cost of £20 per 200.
  • Climb and Raft (4) £20 Delaware Centre
    • You will spend the morning learning how to rock climb and the afternoon getting very wet as you build and sail your own raft across a lake.
  • Karting (6) £20 KartWorld
    • You will travel into Cornwall and have the opportunity to take part in three karting sessions where the only person to beat is yourself (and Mr Price!) by recording the fastest lap time.
  • Cinema (6) £5
    • You will have the opportunity to visit the cinema and see one of the latest releases. Afterwards you will visit the Barbican area of Plymouth.
• Morning Events:
  • Clay Work (4) No charge
    • You will have the chance to produce a 'large' sculpture; taking your influence from either nature of architecture.
• Afternoon Events:
  • Console Games (4) No charge
    • You will be able to use the school console games for the afternoon.

Please note that the final cost of some of the events has yet to be worked out: the number in brackets by each event is the maximum places available for that event.
